Tis the season to get out on your bike and churn out those winter miles, but it’s also the season for giving. If you have a cyclist in your life, or simply fancy treating yourself to a present for being so consistently awesome, Spin Shed is the place to go. We have gifts ranging from less than a tenner to something a bit more expensive, if you REALLY want to let someone know you love them.
If you’re anything like us, your email inboxes, twitter timelines, TV’s and smartphones will have been jammed packed with Black Friday messages. Well we’re not doing one. And there’s a good reason why.
Ok, so it seems a little odd writing this from a dank, cold North of England, leaves on the ground, sky bruised by leaden puffs of grey, but hey ho, every cloud has a silver lining. So whilst Europe shuts off for long Winter miles, bibtights, mudguards and turbo sessions, news reaches us that Summer approaches with haste to the south. To bring, not least ourselves, a little sunshine, we pick out four styles our Southern hemisphere friends can look to enjoy over the coming months.
The mountains may not seem like the natural habitat for a bike racer who’s six foot eight, and by his own admission, eats more than his fair share of porridge, but then Irish National Champion, Conor Dunne is full of surprises. When he unexpectedly found eight days to fill during the Tour of Britain week, he took the opportunity to re-affirm his love for cycling and the freedom it affords, in its purest form. He chats to Spin Shed about hill, haircuts, haute cuisine and his plans for the Worlds.
Deciding to start cycling can be daunting. Not only do you have a completely new feeling to get used to, you also have to contend with chaffing, traffic, getting sweaty and maybe even low self confidence. Every corner you turn, you’re told which ‘rules’ you need to abide by: sock length, colour ways, the position your pedals must be in when you take a picture… So we’ve put together a guide to help new cyclists decide what they should wear when taking to the saddle.
